A Kurt Bestor Christmas has been a staple of the holiday season in Utah for 26 years. Bestor crafts compositions that range from new age to a melting pot of world music, but he is best known for his renderings of both new and familiar Christmas tunes. His holiday show has had a longer run than anyone else's in Utah, save the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, he says. With his spirited playing and talented backup band, The Collective, Bestor charms holiday cheer into audiences each year with his famous standards, like “Prayer of the Children.”
*Bestor is the Big Man of the Utah Christmas Music World, which is obvious by looking at the picture above--he couldn't even fit in his Christmas chair. This shoot was accomplished at Modern Display for two reasons: 1. to capture the Christmas spirit with the establishment's assortment of festive lights, and 2. because Bestor had to pick up LED lights to put in his drummer's dreadlocks.
Bestor will perform in Salt Lake City at Abravanel Hall Dec. 19-21 and in Park City at the Egyptian Theater Dec. 23-25. For more information about Bestor and for ticket information, visit www.KurtBestor.com
